If you follow my social media at all, then you'll know I've been migrating old media that I've done over to my YouTube Channel. I had several interviews and short films that were recorded and used by another company I worked with for a while. Well, they recently removed their YouTube Channel, which means all of the content I had uploaded under them is gone.

What does that mean? I lost all of the views and comments we had over the last five years, but I still have all of the content. It's...

I get asked often what my favorite horror films are. Being a lifelong fan of horror films, books, comics, and games- I have quite a few. So many, in fact, it's truly hard to list them all.

A lot of my answer will depend on my mood. Sometimes I'm in a zombie mood, sometimes it's slasher or werewolf... but one thing is for sure: I love horror films.

Over the years, horror films have influenced me, especially my work as a writer. I've written several books of the horror genre, interviewed p...

GLOOM is almost five years old. It’s crazy how time flies. I look back at how the hero came about, what inspired him, what he means to so many people- and then I think about the journey he and I have had together.

I'm frequently asked about the character and what the books are about. My short answer is hope. Hope is a concept everyone understands. However, in the context of an ultra-violent world, GLOOM offers just that. He offers a chance to those oppressed by corruption...

As an author, more specifically a horror author, I get asked quite frequently about what inspires me and where I get my ideas. I'm fairly certain that most of my brain has been infused with horror culture in a blender-like fashion where countless movies, books, TV shows, video games, and comics have been rattling around and combining like some macabre centrifuge, the contents spilling out and becoming my written works. To be completely honest, I'm not entirely sure where my ideas...

Editing is a word that strikes fear into writers. Why? Because, as writers and authors, editing means we have to change our work. Editing should not be a dirty word. Editing is, in fact, a way to shape your vision into perfect (or near perfect) form. When you have your first draft, and you've written the entire manuscript, the next step is to make sure it is revised and edited for as many errors as possible. When I say errors, I don't just mean grammatical. Sure, as a writer I st...

When you start your journey to writing your novel, you'll be plotting out character arcs. A character arc is the journey, or story, your character travels throughout your novel. From beginning to end, your characters all have arcs. Even if the character is only in the book briefly, they have an arc. Let's look at the definition of a character arc and how we can apply it to your novel. Character Arc Definition: A character arc is the transformation or inner journey of a character...

So, you have an idea for a story, want to write that novel, but don't know where to start? This is the second installment in my Writing Tips series. If you haven't read the first part, you can do so HERE. Once you have the idea for your novel and have done the preliminary work (outline\notes\etc...), it's time to start putting the words down and crafting your story. What does that mean? Crafting your story is taking all of your notes, ideas, and thoughts and shaping them int...

There's so much advice I can give someone who wants to write, but ultimately, they have to have the passion, the drive, to want to do it. At the end of the day, I can give all the advice I have in me, but it will be up to you, the aspiring writer, to carry yourself over the finish line. With that said, here's a few quotes I like to use to help inspire others who want to write. * A book is not finished until the cover is attached. * Write. Don't find excuses not to do so. Jus...

It's been a while since this feature was up and live on the website. There's been several reasons, namely time. I've been really busy and focusing on the semi-regular newsletter (which you can sign up for easily on the menu at the top of any page). So, a lot of my interaction has been through the newsletter, but I wanted to get back into the 'ol blogging. It keeps me writing something other than fiction, which believe it or not, helps keep me sharp.

A lot has been going on with the websit...
